If you own or operate a business that regularly welcomes clients, customers or guests of any kind, there’s quite a lot you need to keep an eye on. From the service you offer to the conduct of your employees and right down to the quality of your products, impressing without exception can be a tricky act to pull off.
However, there’s one particular point of focus which should perhaps be given an even greater focus than others this being bathroom cleaning. According to a recent survey carried out by Harris Interactive, no less than 94% of people said that they would happily never return to an establishment again if they found it to have an unclean bathroom. From hotels to offices to supermarkets to restaurants and so on, it’s pretty clear that bathroom cleaning really is the be all and end all when it comes to customer satisfaction.
In terms of what actually represents an unclean bathroom, those surveyed cited a number of displeasing factors. These included dirty floors, unpleasant smells, unflushed toilets, lack of toilet paper, paper or litter of any kind on the floor, wet floors, broken lights, broken door locks, lack of soap and so on. It was determined that when anyone or more of these were encountered, the respective likelihood of the individual visiting the place leaving permanently increased significantly.
Of course, some will always argue that given the fact that you cannot watch over your restrooms constantly, it is inevitable that things like spillages, paper on the floor, occasional unflushed toilets and so on will be encountered. Which is technically true, but it is also precisely the reason why it is of the utmost importance to consider taking your approach to bathroom hygiene and cleanliness to the next level.
Watching Over Your WC
If you don’t already have one in place, it’s of the utmost importance that you produce and begin using a strict bathroom-check schedule immediately. Chances are you will have seen these in quite a number of restaurants, bars and even motorway service stations. It’s a simple schedule that ensures that your bathrooms are checked at least X amount of times during any given period, in order for unpleasant problems to be dealt with as soon as they emerge.
Research has shown that it can also be beneficial to position a notice in your bathroom, instructing those that come across anything unpleasant to report it immediately to the relevant party. Even in an instance where a visitor encounters something unpleasant, by seeing this notice they will at least know that you are proactive and care about hygiene standards.
Last but not least, it’s also worth remembering that the comprehensiveness and quality of each cleaning job carried out on your bathrooms will make a big difference to exactly how long they remain fresh, pristine and hygienic. Which is precisely why it is always worth considering hiring a professional cleaning team, to make sure the job gets done properly.
After all, it’s your reputation and your business on the line!
